Rough Consensus
Rough consensus refers to an informal decision-making process employed by a community to determine the future development of a protocol. Unlike formal on-chain governance mechanisms, rough consensus systems rely on discussions and deliberations at meetups, conferences, and online forums. Proposed changes are eventually transformed into software updates, and stakeholders participate in an acceptance or rejection vote by either implementing or disregarding the update.
