Roll-Up

Roll-ups are off-chain aggregations of transactions within a smart contract. They combine and process smart contract transactions off-chain, before settling the final state on-chain. Roll-ups aim to reduce transaction fees, addressing the scalability challenges faced by some blockchain protocols due to the increasing popularity of decentralized finance (DeFi). While roll-ups offer throughput solutions, they often require additional hardware for on-chain settlement.
