Public Sale
A public sale, commonly known as an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), is usually the final funding round offered by a blockchain startup after the private sale and pre-sale stages. Public sales are typically open to retail investors, large investors, and the general public, with the requirement of registration and valid Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identification. ICOs gained popularity during the 2017 crypto bull market, but they have evolved into other funding models such as Initial Exchange Offerings (IEOs) and Initial DEX Offerings (IDO) in recent times.
