Proof of Replication (PoRep) is a consensus mechanism employed by the Filecoin network. It involves storage miners proving to the blockchain protocol that they have created unique copies of specific data pieces on behalf of the network. This verification process is accomplished using zk-SNARK cryptographic proof technology.
