Ethereum

Ethereum was launched in 2015 as a decentralized, blockchain-based global supercomputer, serving as the foundation for an ecosystem of interoperable and decentralized applications (dApps). Built on the concept of self-executing smart contracts, Ethereum enables the development of assets and applications without the need for intermediaries. The network operates with its native cryptocurrency, ether (ETH), which is used to cover network transaction costs. Ethereum’s open-source nature, programmability, privacy, and resistance to censorship make it a fundamental component of the decentralized internet, spawning innovations like Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), stablecoins, and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
