A command line interface (CLI) is a system that uses lines of text to execute commands for a specific computer program. The command line interface relies on a command-line processor or interpreter to process instructions. While most applications employ menu-driven or graphical user interfaces (GUIs), command line interfaces are still used, particularly in software development and other technical operations.
