Aeternity Blockchain

The Aeternity blockchain is recognized for its platform-specific Sofia smart contracts, Fate Virtual Machine (VM) framework, state channel scaling technology, decentralized oracle, and governance structure. Aeternity is purpose-built to support a wide range of applications, including decentralized finance (DeFi), document and contract management, invoice and receipt management, payments, loans, blockchain-based identity, Internet of Things (IoT) blockchain identities and hardware, gaming, as well as fungible and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The project was conceptualized in 2016, conducted a token offering in 2017 to secure funding, and successfully launched its mainnet in 2018.
