Tribute to Talk

Tribute to Talk is a feature developed by the blockchain-enabled messaging platform Status to combat malicious activity and spam on its network. Users of Status can set a Tribute-to-Talk requirement, which necessitates non-whitelisted users to stake a minimum amount of Status Network Token (SNT) to send them a message. If the recipient responds to the sender’s message, the staked SNT is transferred to the recipient. However, if the message is ignored or rejected, the staked SNT is returned to the sender, and they are temporarily restricted from contacting the recipient.
