State Channel (Scaling Solution)

State Channel (Scaling Solution) is a technique that enables bidirectional communication between a blockchain and off-chain transactional channels, employing diverse mechanisms to enhance transaction capacity and speed. Unlike on-chain transactions, state channels do not necessitate immediate miner participation for validation. Instead, they are network-adjacent resources secured using multi-signature or smart contract mechanisms. Once a transaction or group of transactions concludes within a state channel, the final state of the channel and its transitions are recorded on the underlying blockchain. While state channels do make some trade-offs in terms of decentralization, they offer significant scalability benefits as part of the trilemma trade-off.
