Stalling Delay

A stalling delay is a time-based technique used by certain types of malware to evade a network’s cybersecurity defenses. After infecting a target system, malware with a stalling delay mechanism executes a series of useless CPU cycles, intentionally delaying the execution of its actual malicious code until the target network’s alertness has diminished. If successful, the malware can then fully execute its malicious code.
