Staking
Staking is the process by which users of a blockchain network lock or “stake” their cryptocurrency assets as part of the consensus mechanism, ensuring the network’s security and functionality. These staked assets are typically held in validator nodes or crypto wallets, and holders are often rewarded with annualized financial returns. Staking is a fundamental feature of Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain protocols, with each project having its own staking requirements and withdrawal restrictions.
