Spartacus Attack
A Spartacus attack belongs to the category of Sybil attacks and involves stealing the identity of other nodes within a distributed or decentralized network. By exploiting trust and reputation, the attacker acquires the identity of a genuine node rather than generating a pseudonymous logical ID. Spartacus attacks typically occur during the network bootstrapping phase, where the attacker identifies bootstrapping nodes and nodes with high trust scores. By copying their ID hashes, the Spartacus replaces these nodes after they appear to be disconnected.
