Social Engineering
Social engineering involves utilizing various techniques that take advantage of psychological factors, including fear, trust, panic, lack of information, and confusion, in order to target and exploit individuals. Rather than employing direct hacking methods or identifying technical weaknesses in devices or digital accounts, social engineering centers on manipulating individuals into carrying out actions that may be detrimental to their own interests. These actions can include divulging sensitive information or unintentionally transferring funds to malicious actors. Social engineering tactics can also be employed to gain unauthorized access to networks and devices, enabling malicious actors to seize control and install malware.
