Slippage
In the context of finance, slippage refers to the disparity between the expected and actual execution prices of a trade. It typically occurs when an investor buys or sells an asset on a platform with limited liquidity and low trading volume. If there is a significant difference between the bid and ask prices on an exchange’s order book, the investor may end up paying more or receiving less of the asset than initially anticipated when the trade is executed.
