Slashing

Slashing is an automated process implemented by blockchain protocols utilizing Proof-of-Stake (PoS) or similar consensus mechanisms. If a crypto asset holder deposits or stakes their assets in a validator node within the network and the node engages in dishonest or malicious behavior, the depositor may be penalized, resulting in a partial loss of their initial investment.
