Seeding
In the realm of peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing, seeding involves the act of uploading previously downloaded content for others to download. When a computer is connected to a P2P network and has a desired file, it becomes a seed, allowing multiple users to download the file faster than from a single source. P2P file sharing via seeding gained prominence during the late 1990s with the sharing of mp3 music files and has since expanded to include video files, video games, and computer programs.
