Scrypt
Scrypt is a cryptographic hash function employed in the Litecoin cryptocurrency to transform input data, which includes letters and numbers, into an encrypted output. Similar to Bitcoin’s SHA-256 hash function, Scrypt operates within a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism. Notably, Scrypt was initially devised to restrict mining to CPUs and GPUs, but later, scrypt-capable ASICs were developed, expanding its mining possibilities.
