Russell 3000 Index
As an equity index, the Russell 3000 Index adopts a market capitalization-weighted approach. Despite its establishment and headquarters in the United Kingdom, the index serves as a widely recognized benchmark for evaluating the performance of the 3,000 largest publicly traded U.S. stocks, encompassing nearly 98% of the U.S. stock market. Comprising the large-cap Russell 1000 Index and the small-cap Russell 2000 Index, the Russell 3000 Index was officially introduced on January 1, 1984, and is overseen by FTSE Russell, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).
