Public Key

Public Key is a cryptographic code paired with a private key that allows the receipt of cryptocurrency transactions. While anyone can send transactions to a public key, the private key is necessary to unlock and prove ownership of the received cryptocurrency. Public keys are often represented as addresses for easier use and sharing.
