Physical Bitcoins
Physical bitcoins are physical metal coins designed to resemble Bitcoin, often concealing a private key under a tamper-proof sticker or hologram. These coins can be purchased pre-loaded with cryptocurrency or without any preloaded value. The Casascius Coins were among the first physical coins that held bitcoin (BTC). Other physical coins supporting cryptocurrencies like litecoin (LTC) and bitcoin cash (BCH) are also available. The exchange of these physical coins constitutes a blockchain transaction, as the recipient gains possession of the hidden private key. Typically, these physical coins are single-use and cannot be reused once redeemed.
