Permissionless Ledger (Permissionless Blockchain)
A permissionless ledger, also referred to as a permissionless blockchain, is a decentralized network that allows individuals to participate without requiring authorization from a central authority or any other governing entity. These ledgers are constructed in an open and decentralized manner, often leveraging their native cryptocurrency. Operating on a peer-to-peer (P2P) basis, permissionless blockchains embody the principles of openness, public accessibility, borderlessness, neutrality, resistance to censorship, transparency, and immutability. In contrast, permissioned blockchains restrict network usage to authorized participants, setting them apart from the inclusive nature of permissionless blockchains.
