Permissioned Ledger (Permissioned Blockchain)
A permissioned ledger, also known as a permissioned blockchain, is a blockchain system that incorporates an additional security layer known as an access control layer. This layer restricts network usage to specific parties, typically requiring specialized security keys or passwords for access. Only authorized participants with predetermined access are allowed to perform certain actions within the network. Permissioned ledgers differ significantly from public blockchain systems like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are open and accessible to anyone.
