Open
The open or opening price represents one of the four primary data points utilized in day trading within the stock market. The other three data points, collectively known as OHLC, include the low, high, and close prices. Historically, stock market trading occurred during regular market hours, typically between 9 am and 4 pm local time, with weekends being non-trading days. However, cryptocurrency markets operate 24/7. Although crypto assets do not have a literal opening price, most charting platforms include OHLC data to indicate the start of each day based on the regular stock market’s opening time.
