NASDAQ Composite Index

Comprising more than 2,500 securities listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange, the NASDAQ Composite Index serves as a comprehensive stock index. With a substantial portion, almost half, dedicated to technology-related companies, it primarily reflects the technology sector. The index specifically includes stocks of traditional companies, while excluding preferred stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and various other securities. Notably, the NASDAQ 100, which encompasses the top 100 non-financial stocks on NASDAQ based on market capitalization, represents over 90% of the NASDAQ Composite Index.
