LINK is an ERC-677 token serving as the native token of Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network. It is used to incentivize node operators for providing external data to smart contracts. Additionally, smart contract creators may require nodes to deposit LINK as a penalty fee to ensure the fulfillment of requests for external information.
