Light-Client Node
A light client, also referred to as a light node, is software that establishes connections with full nodes in a blockchain network. Unlike full nodes, light clients do not maintain a complete copy of the blockchain or directly interact with it. Instead, they depend on full nodes as intermediaries. Many cryptocurrency wallets operate as light clients, enabling users to perform transactions, verify account balances, and engage in crypto transfers. However, they provide limited functionality when compared to full node implementations.
