Internet Computer Protocol (ICP)

Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) is the underlying blockchain system of the DFINITY project. Positioned as a competitor to Ethereum, Polkadot, and Cardano, ICP aims to deliver web-speed performance while offering infinite scalability and significantly reduced computational costs compared to the current industry standard. The Internet Computer Protocol is designed to host decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, enterprise IT systems, websites, and various internet infrastructures. It consists of a network of sub-blockchains governed by an ownerless master blockchain known as the Network Nervous System (NNS).
