Intangible Asset
An intangible asset refers to any asset that lacks physical substance. Examples include intellectual property rights, computer software, design patents, medical data, and contractual agreements like land title transfers or mortgages, among others. In the context of blockchain, intangible assets encompass decentralized identities (DIDs), smart contracts, decentralized oracles, databases, application programming interfaces (APIs), software development kits (SDKs), and more. The classification of cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is somewhat ambiguous as they can be stored in digital wallets or crypto exchanges and possess characteristics that are both tangible and intangible.
