Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application layer protocol utilized for online communication. It enables the exchange of hypermedia data, such as HTML, and plays a fundamental role in the functionality of the internet. HTTP facilitates the interaction between web servers and various components of web-based systems, including JavaScript, cascading style sheets (CSS), application programming interfaces (APIs), and the underlying Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP) layers.
