Blockchain governance refers to the formal structure established within a blockchain ecosystem to ensure its long-term integrity, transparency, and technical innovation. A robust governance structure involves methodologies for voting on platform technology, strategy, updates, and rules. It encompasses both on-chain governance, which involves cryptographic algorithms governing the network’s computational architecture and consensus mechanism, and off-chain governance, which involves interpersonal decision-making not encoded in computer code.
