Frontier (July 2015)

Frontier, launched in July 2015, was the initial version of the Ethereum mainnet. It marked the beginning of Ethereum’s journey and utilized the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism. Frontier offered basic functionality, allowing users to mine ether (ETH) through a command line interface (CLI) and upload and execute smart contracts.
