Exchange Coin (Exchange Token)
Exchange coins are digital assets that are introduced to the market through an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) hosted by a cryptocurrency exchange. This fundraising approach for cryptocurrency companies bears similarities to an Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Exchange coins can manifest in two ways: they can be launched by the exchange itself as the platform’s native coin or token, or they can be launched by other crypto companies leveraging the exchange’s token launch infrastructure and services. These exchange assets can be in the form of tokens, which operate on an existing blockchain, or coins, which have their own independent blockchain.
