Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) encompasses a shared database system in which transactions and associated information are recorded in multiple locations simultaneously. DLT can be implemented either as a permissioned network, which is under the control of a central authority, or as a permissionless network, which is upheld by a decentralized network of nodes without a central authority overseeing it. Blockchains and Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) are examples of different types of DLT.
