Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA)
The Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) is a standardized method for creating digital signatures within public-key cryptography (PKC) systems, including blockchains and related computing infrastructure. The DSA standard was established in 1991 by the U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard in collaboration with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). While the DSA standard’s patent was made globally accessible upon its creation, it is anticipated that an upcoming update may render it deprecated and no longer usable.
