CENTRE is a collaboration between Circle, a financial technology (FinTech) firm, and Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange. CENTRE is responsible for the creation of USD coin (USDC), a stablecoin backed by assets denominated in US dollars, held in regulated financial institutions within the United States.
