Big Tech
Big Tech refers to the collective term used for the five largest companies in the United States’ information technology (IT) industry, which include Meta (formerly Facebook), Amazon, Apple, Google, and Microsoft. These companies have achieved remarkable market capitalization, ranging from USD 500 billion to 2 trillion, making them among the most valuable publicly traded companies globally. However, concerns have been raised about Big Tech’s centralized power, excessive focus on profit, inadequate security and privacy measures, and instances of data theft due to their dominant position and international influence.
